Country: France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Auxey-Duresses
Grape Varieties: 100% Pinot Noir
Crafted by Domaine Comte Armand, this Auxey-Duresses Premier Cru combines grapes from two of the village’s finest parcels: Les Breterins and Les Duresses. Les Breterins is a south-facing site with light, white soils that encourage early ripening and produce wines abundant in fruit and fragrance. Les Duresses, with its southeast exposure and clay-rich earth, yields denser, more structured wines. Their union creates a cuvée of remarkable depth and balance — a serious, expressive wine that captures both power and finesse.
Yield: 5,000 Bottles
Ageing: 18 months in French oak barrels, 25% new.
Tasting Notes:
A vivid ruby colour introduces aromas of red cherry, raspberry, and violet, layered with subtle hints of spice, cedar, and wet stone. The palate is concentrated yet refined, revealing supple fruit framed by firm, elegant tannins. The interplay between the ripeness of Les Breterins and the structure of Les Duresses creates impressive complexity and length. This Premier Cru offers immediate appeal but will reward cellaring for 10–12 years.
Food Pairing:
Ideal with roast lamb, duck confit, beef tenderloin, or dishes featuring mushrooms, truffle, or root vegetables.
